Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance versatility earned her praise across many genres ranging from period drama to thrillers and action. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her father, an architect, and mother who produced. Hunter was twin to the younger sibling. At the age of seven year old, she started making auditions for TV commercials. Her interest in acting grew quickly and she enrolled soon after to the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. When she was eight years old, she starred with Ethan Hawke as Sophistry in Off-Broadway productions. When she was nine her debut film was Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson made her debut on screen in Just Cause, but she made her debut with Manny & Lo, a film that follows orphaned siblings as they run away. The Horse Whisperer (1998), in which Johansson plays a teenaged girl with disfigurement, was hailed by critics. Later she became known as the cynical teenager Rebecca on the film Ghost World. She performed with stunning grace in Wildflower and other plays. Renee Felice Smith's journey in the entertainment industry began in a very early age. It was her love of acting as a child. Smith landed a first acting gig in the age of six, with her parents' encouragement. She made a commercial for Dannon. The same as other newbie actresses in her position the actress honed her talents on the stage. She was involved in various USA projects while making her debut on stage in the company of Wildflower. She attended an institution called the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory, part of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
